Website Design

The Internet is the great equaliser, because, with the right design, it's possible to create a site that is more appealing than your larger competition. It's bizarre how often you encounter large companies that have paid little or no attention to their presence on the Internet. If first impressions count and they generally do, then it's important to make sure that you portray the best possible image you can.

Starting From Scratch

You can't afford to take risks when it comes to your website; it's often the first contact that you have with your potential clients.

You may have a very clear idea of what you want your website to look like, or may not have; either way at Devon Design we explain all the options in a language that you can understand without any of the jargon.

If your company has been established for a while then we can incorporate your logo and company colours in your new website. Or, as a new company, we can create a corporate identity for you.

Website Maintenance

*So you have a website, it's been sat there on the internet for a while - when was the last time someone updated it? Sometimes the day to day workings of your business means that your website gets overlooked and neglected. Many of your potential customers may find your web site on the internet by using one of the many search engines available, they find the site and take a look and they then discover that it has not been updated for, maybe, six months, a year, or even longer. That potential customer may think, 'Well, they can't keep their web site updated, what sort of service are they going to provide? Maybe I should look somewhere else...'

This is where Devon Design can help; we can keep your web site updated and accurate. If you have a website and would like to update the content on a regular basis then why not have a look at our content management system, Site Pilot

Accessibility

Making your website available to the widest possible audience is our main goal. The Internet 'audience' is continually growing, with computing being taught in schools to children as young as five years old, ensuring that people take notice of your website is becoming harder. A website that looks attractive, and is interesting, may give you the edge; however, it is quite possible that some of the visitors to your website will not have the luxury of full sight, may be dyslexic, colour blind, or suffer from repetitive strain injury (RSI).

UK legislation, under the Disabilities Discrimination Act 1995, already requires companies to embrace the principle of accessibility online and to take practical steps to ensure that they comply legally. However, there is sound commercial logic, as a public relations opportunity, for organisations to ensure that their websites are, at the very least, adequate, in this respect.
